How do I create a floor plan?
Your floor plan doesn't need to be of professional quality. A hand-drawn floor plans works for us! Floor plans are a way to help us visualize your space. Check with your realtor, you can often find floor plans from a realtor or city building department. There are also apps that can be purchased that help you create your own floor plan such as RoomSketcher.
Follow our step by step instructions to create a floor plan like the one above.
Draw the general shape of the house as if you were looking from a bird's eye view.
Add in the basics. Measure each wall from corner to corner to give the overall length.
Add in the details. Go back to each wall to document each door, window, and opening with their measurements. Use a curved line to signify the door swing and double lines for a window as shown above.
Don't forget to add other important measurements: ceiling height, overall height for each window and door, and other attached features like cabinetry, bathroom fixtures and stairs.
What's the difference between your design packages?
We offer 3 design packages to suit your needs.
INSIDE is a conceptual redesign of interior space only. For example, if you simply want to renovate a kitchen, open up interior spaces, add a half bath within your existing footprint, this is the package for you.
INSIDE+ is a conceptual redesign of interior and exterior, including possible window and door relocations.
GROWTH is a conceptual redesign of interior spaces including the addition of new rooms that increases the square footage, and includes modifications to the exterior.
What's your refund policy?
Your satisfaction is a priority for us; however, we cannot provide a refund. Our conceptual design is our professional service to you. We will happily provide one additional redesign based on your feedback if you are not satisfied with the concept we proposed. All requests must be made within 30 days of receiving original concept.
What do I need to start my project?
To begin your project, you’ll need to upload photos of your home, specifically the areas you are interested in working on, a floor plan, and a survey if you are choosing the third package, GROWTH.

Open the Dropbox App
Open Dropbox Shared Folder sent from House Redo
Click the + (plus) icon at bottom of screen
Select Upload Photos or File depending on location of images
Click the photos or file you would like to upload
Click “Next”
Shared Folder appears; Click ‘Upload’
Click ‘Share’ and send to design@houseredo.com
How long does a design project take?
Orders received after NOON EST will be processed the next day according to the following schedule:
INSIDE, our most basic package, has a 3 business days turnaround.
INSIDE+ has a 5 business days turnaround.
GROWTH has a 7 business days turn around.
